Introducing The Daniel Ladinsky Newsletter

My wonderful agent wanted me to start a monthly e-mail Newsletter, and to announce it on my website here. And hope you will subscribe. If you scroll to the bottom on my website you’ll see the subscribe button. And we will never pester any subscribers with things other than the Newsletter once a month itself, or so. And never share your email address!

What this will include, mostly once a month is: A new Hafiz & Rumi poem of mine, aimed for a title enclosed here, that will in some detail reference the source of the rendering, so scholars might propose to me. And one or two new original free-style haiku. I just wrote out a whimsical one in the last hour that went:

wonder what will hatch
from that wondorous giant egg the moon

I mean that seems a reasonable question. Cause maybe a flying saucer will hatch out of it. Or maybe super intelligent aliens have a truck stop on the dark side of the moon and have been hearing the prayers of millions to hover over the White House and Russia and beam up any weirdos, and take them to a mental ward on planet Zicom 17, that even got a very honorable mention in one of my Hafiz books, A Year With Hafiz, right there on page 401. For December 40th!!! True! All to say keep praying that the Wizard of Oz and Dorothy and Toto, and the munchkins, and wonderful minds & hearts from the LGBTQ take over our planet again.

And at times my Newsletters will just be a sweet prairie dog popping out of its burrow and singing something that might challenge the conventional mind to loosen up so you can dance more! Saying who knows what? Like maybe repeating a couple koans I wrote that go ...

How could you and Buddha be chewing the same piece of chicken!

And or: Could Carl Jung still get midair on a butterfly wing with Yoda and start high-fiving everyone!

That last one gets rather deep, and we will at times wade into some serious theological discussions, debates and possibilities; but with maybe Santa or Elvis, or a sweet whale and turtle as the final judge, to keep things fair!

O gosh. O me, O my! And I will talk about new projects and books I have on the stove; which is really many.

I like this title to one:

Becoming the Sun
The Poetry of Rumi & Hafiz

Inspirations & Annotations
****by Daniel Ladinsky

Becoming the Sun. Such a glorious Being. That we could then just marvel at our Truest Self, or anything— forever! I was there once, but a Sun even greater than me brought me back into this world to write poems!

And do read my blog entry titled: Prairie Dogs & the Moon.** As we will be sharing some of the upcoming comic strips there. And my crazy pen and I wrote about 220 of those in a few weeks; and there are some good ones.

A big hug to you, and thanks if you subscribe!
