Buddha After Hours In the Bar! And Viktor Frankl

This, all here, was shared with an international spiritual web-chat site I offer various doo-dads to everyday. They can range from a playful new koan I wrote like: How could you and Buddha be chewing the same piece of chicken? To new a Rumi or Hafiz poem I am working on, to all kinds of stuff.

The name Viktor Frankl came up just yesterday — and his world-famous book: Man's Search For Meaning, in some correspondence with an interesting retired woman doctor. She mentioned the book to me.

I went to a progressive college for a while; was only there for a few months before I dropped out. But upon enrolling, this college sent everyone a copy of Man's Search For Meaning, that was first published in Germany in 1946! It is still a remarkable bestseller, and has been translated into 24 languages. Don't think I have seen or touched the book in over 50 years! But now plan to give the book a couple minutes in my play, and connect Frankl to Jung, and too to Rumi & Hafiz. And I just rendered a quote from the book I saw online, and will read it in the play. It is beautiful, and so significant, and goes:

One should never be ashamed of tears, for they speak

of the tenderness of your heart, and the miracle of being.

And where do they roll my dear, down the cheek of God!

Down the cheek of existence, blessing us from your caring!

One could read more about this play on my latest blog entries here, before this one! The play will first be performed in Taos and is titled...

Rumi, Hafiz, Elvis & Carl Jung!

Helping The Jailhouse Rock!

Aka: Buddha After Hours In the Bar!

P.S. I am thinking about taking this play on the road, and/or starting to license it out. You could contact Melissa, my agent about that, (here at this website) if you might in some way be a part of that! And again you could read more about this reading-play on my last couple blog entries before this one!

And the answer to that koan is: because Buddha says someday you will so buddy up with him— and everything— you will be One. And thus One with anyone eating chicken or pizza anywhere, past, present or future — or drinking a beer! Thus is the world behind the veil! Wow Wee!! I am not there yet, but think that is the way our boats are heading. Yep!

And ahhhh YEP! I waded into that some on my very last blog, you can see just south of this one!
